My favorite part of holidays are the meals. I love gathering everyone around the table, laughing, joking and reminiscing on those special moments in our lives that bring joy and as I thought about how I wanted my children to remember their childhood, I knew that meal time was a place where I could make the most impact.
Meals are such a important and ritualistic part of the family experience, but when you are on-the-go like my family, two children in two different phases of life, with a baby on the way and parents who work full-time entrepreneurial endeavors, getting a meal on the table to gather around can be tricky.
It's been a priority of mine to cook for my family as often as possible, but if I am being honest, I don't love being in the kitchen and I can't handle the prep it requires - the planning, weekly grocery shopping and putting it away. Oh my gosh, it's the furthest thing on my list of FUN things I want to be doing with my very coveted time.
and then I found Dream Dinners....
I have tried meal subscriptions in the past and, at first, it seems like a great idea, but a few meals in, I am overwhelmed and daunted by the amount of time it takes to prep the meals and the unique ingredients it calls for, which makes it impossible to impersonate, if we enjoy the meal, in the future.
Dream Dinners is NOTHING like that and it's amazing. For as little as $7 per serving, you receive meals, prepped, bagged and ready to cook OR to go into the freezer, for your entire family, ready for you when you are ready for them and it's so easy to get started.
How does Dream Dinners work?
Dream Dinner is so easy and is basically done in 4 simple steps.
Step 1: Head online to www.dreamdinners.com and check out the monthly menu. Select your timeline for receiving your meals and how many members of your family you need to feed and complete your order. (the food is so yummy, simple enough to make on your own again and again, and tons of variety - check out the September/October menu here).
Step 2: They prep your meals. They shop, chop, assemble and clean up so that you can get a month of meals locally at one of their locations (and they are located all over the country, so I am sure there is one near you. Find out by clicking here)
Step 3: You cook at home. Thaw out 3-5 meals each week an cook as directed. (many of these meals can be made in your instapot, airfryer or on your grill and in your oven - and next to every meal, it lets you know what is best for that meal.)
Step 4: Share more time with your family. Gather around the dinner table and catch up, connect and make family memories. It is possible with Dream Dinners because each meal can be on the table in 30 minutes or less! It's such a relief, friends.
What are the benefits of Dream Dinners?
If I am being honest, because of our lifestyle, many evenings when it is time for dinner, I am zapped and it's the LAST thing I want to think about. I want someone else to make the decision and do the work, which means many nights we are in a fast food line.
Those aren't the memories I want for my family and that is in no way how I want to nourish their bodies. Dream Dinners has truly been an answered prayer because the $30-$40 a day we were spending on fast food, turned into $280-$350 per week. Yikes!
With Dream Dinners, I have been getting 12 healthy meals, made from REAL food for around $300 dollars ( cooking 3-5 meals a week), which is 2 weeks of dinners in my house, and I can feel proud knowing that my kids were eating actual meals, prepared by me (and my secret weapon).
Maybe dinner IS your thing, but breakfast and lunch aren't? You can also order those meals through Dream Dinners.
This has helped me plan my meals (mindlessly), we have had less food waste, we've spent less on food because we aren't piecemealing meals together with random ingredients, and its easy, quick and healthy.
One of my favorite parts of this meal subscription service is they send a Family Playbook that allow you to plan out your meals week to week, allows you to jot down the meals you love most and might want to order again, and comes complete with conversation starters for around the table with the family.
And this process is so easy, I can include my big girl in it and we can pick out meals and cook together!
