Let Kids Be Kids - Back to School w/ Old Navy

Updated: Oct 29, 2023

One of the best parts of summer 🔆 is preparing for back to school, Mamas am I right? ⁣

Since getting a little sister, one of Wisdom’s favorite things to do is match. Whenever we are out shopping for Wisdom, she’s always hoping there are pieces available for Courage too. The best part of shopping at Old Navy, besides all of the fun patterns and witty and inspiring clothing, is that they make clothes for the entire family so all of our matching dreams can come true (and I can get in on the action too so it’s a win win😍).⁣

The new ONward! x Boys and Girls Club capsule collection is the first ever collection designed by kids and it’s now available in stores.

You can see BTS of the newest collections and check out the fun Wisdom and I had doing a little back to school shopping below.

Fun Fact: I was a #boysandgirlsclub kid and worked for the clubs for 2 years after college - my first professional job! How full circle is this?

As I mentioned above, one of my favorite parts of Old Navy is that there are clothes for the WHOLE entire family and my family that is in very different stages in life can always find something they love and that fits their personality. Another BONUS to Old Navy is that there is clothing available for all seasons and all seasons of life. When I was pregnant and, even now, six months postpartum, I can find clothes that suit me and are flattering to wherever my body transitions to.

Because we are photographers, we are always looking for pieces in our wardrobe that serve two purposes, day to day wear and camera ready, just in case and we can find that every time at Old Navy.

When shopping for my family (and especially my girls), it is important to me that:

1.) There are graphic tees with strong inspirational and empowerment messages.

2.) Dresses are available and can be worn traditionally or with leggings underneath because Washington weather isn’t always easy to pin down.

3.) Layers to pile on that can go from warm to cool in an instant and this is especially important as an active travel family.

4.) Jeggings. Jeans that feel like “leggings” Wisdom will not wear jeans. She doesn’t like the way they feel so its important to have pants that feel like leggings but give that polished look of jeans that mama’s love

.

5.) Fun Accessories raising girls means bows, headbands, fancy sparkly shoes and necklaces and Old Navy makes the best of it.

Head into Old Navy today to check out their new Back To School Collection and grab some of your own staples. You will not be disappointed!

With strength, courage and wisdom,

Tash
